Over 500 participants all came together at the Saints' College for the fight against Cancer this March. Relay For Life is a fun and moving overnight experience that raises vital funds for the Cancer Councils' research, prevention and support services.
Relay For Life began in the USA in 1985 when Dr. Gordy Klatt, wanted to raise awareness of cancer and boost the income of his local cancer charity. He spent a grueling twenty-four hours circulating a track in Washington and raised over US$27,000, and showed that one person can make a difference. It is now celebrated by more than 4 million people in over 20 countries.
The Bathurst Relay For Life included such acts on the main stage such as Lueth Ajak, The CSU Ukes, Will, and Fight Back. Throughout the two days there were many events for participants including, Sh'bam Class, RPM Class, Undie and Pajama run, Boot Camp, Giant Jenga, colour run and much much more.
Photonation spent both days covering the event taking images of the events and attendees. We also took video and made a video of the day. Utilising the high quality full frame DSLR and a GoPro Hero we were able to include a timelapse of the teams walking.
Our photos featured in the Bathurst Western Advocate Article and Bathurst Relay for Life Facebook Page.
Photonation also has the pleasure of shooting for the Mudgee Relay for Life on the 30th April, 2016.
